Volunteering Options

I love animals, and I want to help a good cause

but I’m unsure what I can do.

At Catebi, there are many ways you can help us support community cats:

I can come and help directly:

  • Trappers: You’ll work hands-on with humane traps to safely capture stray or feral cats. This role is vital, but we only have 1 volunteer who can do that. The importance of this is immense [link to TNVR effect article]
  • Cat House Administrator: Want to help homeless cats without being involved in direct care? We’re looking for an organized and attentive volunteer to manage the logistics of our cat house.
    • What you’ll do:
      • Purchase food, litter, and other supplies while finding the best prices.
      • Replenish stock regularly and organize deliveries to the cat apartment.
      • Maintain an inventory of property (carriers, cages, tests, etc.).
      • Coordinate donation pickups as needed.
      • Keep clear records of expenses.
    •  Just a few hours a week.
    • No need to deal with litter boxes — it’s all about organization and oversight.
    • If doing good matters to you and you’ve got great coordination skills, we’d love to hear from you!
  • Clean-up Volunteers: Our CAT FLAT facility temporarily fosters stray cats after they’ve undergone spaying or neutering. These cats need time and care to fully recover, and the space must remain clean and comfortable for them. Volunteers are needed to help with:
    • Cleaning recovery areas, litter boxes, and feeding stations.
    • Changing bedding and ensuring hygienic conditions.
    • Light maintenance to keep the space tidy and functional.

Catebi is run entirely by volunteers — we receive no government or organizational funding, and we have no paid staff. Even helping out for an hour or two can make a real difference in a cat’s recovery journey.

  • Event Organizers: Plan and coordinate community events at local places, collaborate with local businesses.
    • Spending several hours in a day every other week in a warm community
    • Welcoming and directing guests
    • Collecting donations and entry payments

I cannot come, but I still want to help:

  • Online Application Volunteers: Want to help cats but don’t have the time or ability for in-person tasks? This low-commitment, high-impact role is perfect for you!
    • What you’ll do:
      • Contact applicants who fill out our online TNVR forms
      • Clarify details and answer questions
      • Schedule upcoming spay/neuter appointments
      • Provide guidance and instructions before and after surgery
    • Time commitment: around 4 hours per week
    • Fully remote, flexible hours
  • Foster a cat temporarily: Some cats can’t be returned to the streets due to health or safety concerns. They still need a safe place to stay — at least until they recover fully, or until a new temporary or permanent home is found.
  • Cat Curators: Take personal responsibility for helping an individual cat find a forever home. You’ll manage its donation and support posts across different platforms (we’ll share useful lists of relevant groups). Promote the cat in Telegram, Facebook, and adoption channels, engage with potential adopters, and follow up with inquiries. Your goal is to find a loving, responsible family — and we’re here to guide you every step of the way. You can just pick one you like. Here’s how to be a cat curator: [LINK]
  • Point-of-Contact Volunteers: Be the friendly and knowledgeable first responder for Catebi across Instagram, Facebook, and Telegram groups. You’ll answer questions, guide people who want to help stray cats (especially those seeking spay/neuter help), and connect them with the right local volunteers. You’ll also assist users in filling out our TNVR application form and respond to offers of material donations such as food, litter, and cat supplies.
  • Social Media Admins: Manage social media accounts to spread our message and engage the community.

I can code or talk to coders:

  • Python Developers: Join Catebi’s all-volunteer IT team! We need Python developers to maintain and enhance our ecosystem of Telegram bots and Airtable-integrated tools. Work with libraries like telethon and pyairtable to automate workflows and support our TNVR operations. A great opportunity to gain practical experience while helping animals — no strict deadlines, and the work is fully remote.
  • IT Project Coordinators: Help us manage our tech projects! This role involves overseeing small projects like Telegram bots and Airtable databases, assigning tasks, maintaining progress, and coordinating calls between contributors. Ideal for someone with a knack for communication and light project management.

I dunno what I can do:

  • Share our posts on social media networks.
  • Refer potential contacts, such as pet sitters.
  • Find travelers to Germany from Georgia willing to transport cats.
  • Connect us with individuals who can transport blood samples to Europe.
  • If you’re a professional — whether in veterinary care, transportation, grooming, printing, or any other relevant service — consider offering our volunteers discounted rates or pro bono support. Your kindness helps us stretch our limited resources further and keeps our all-volunteer effort running strong.
  • Adopt a cat!

Donations

Financial contributions are always welcome and greatly appreciated, helping us continue our vital work for the cats and the community.

Every bit of your effort makes a meaningful impact. Join Catebi and be part of the solution!
